SOLD OUT IN 7 MINUTES!!!
There are now two races at the NYC
Tri. The first is to register while the second is on race day.
Trick or treating was over, we put the kids to bed, and we're watching
a movie to stay awake until midnight. At 11:30pm, Betsi said that
she didn't want to participate in the New York City Triathlon again. What!? This
was the first time hearing this. You're doing it. This was
just nerves talking. At 11:55pm, Betsi and Jeff have two computers
booted up and ready to go. At midnight, we were nervous when the
website said the server was busy and to try back later. Betsi tried
over a dozen times before she finally reached the registration page and
raced through the form to fill it out. There wasn't any time to
read the legal disclaimers or order apparel. It was official at
12:05am that she made it in. A confirmation email arrived two minutes
later. The website kicked us out as we tried to register Wendy,
Betsi's cousin. The web page stated the triathlon had sold out
7 minutes! It sold out in 22 minutes last
year and 8 hours the
year before.
Lori, Scott and Steve also made it in. It's amazing how many people
Betsi has inspired.
Later that day, Ainsley swam 3 more heats in her first swim meet of
the fall/winter/spring indoor season. She swam well. She
swam really well for having the flu the prior week and missing practice.

Every November, Ryan's troop invites the Webelos on a camping trip to
launch model rockets, see how the troop operates, eat a great dinner,
and camp over night. We hope all of the Webelos will join the troop
in the spring when they bridge to Boy Scouts. See more

On cloudy days, many cameras tend to make the photo
too blue. I use the WhiBal white
balance card to color correct a group of photos in Adobe
Photoshop Lightroom in a matter of a few mouse clicks. The
results are a night and day difference.
To make the change in Lightroom, click on the first photo, hold
the shift key (Windows) or command key (Mac), and click on the
last photo to highlight a range of photos. Click on the photo
of the WhiBal to select it. In the Develop module of Lightroom,
select the dropper tool. Click on the white, black or 18%
gray area of the WhiBal and watch each photo change before your
eyes.

Ryan thought it would be fun to use the leaf blower. The
blower was too heavy for him and the fun started to blow away too. |
November 22, Sunday
Ainsley is tired at the end of each of her races. She was in the
pool at 7:00am, which is earlier than she gets up for school. She
swam the 25m in each stroke and the IM at the end. See more
photos.

We hosted Thanksgiving at our house this year. See
