The first day of school was a wet one. Dan decided to take photos from the shelter of the van. Ainsley had waited years to be old enough to ride the school bus as she set off for Kindergarten. Ryan was excited to see all of his friends again.
We enjoyed our third Orioles game this year with some friends that live in the neighborhood. Ainsley stayed with Betsi's Dad and Step Mom since she gets bored. See more photos and video (7.6MB).

The following week was rained out half way through practice.
The fall Cub Scout camp out at Burke Lake was fun. The kids got more practice in setting up a tent and making a camp fire. They also rode their bike with some of the adults on the many bike trails around the lake. After dinner, all of the dens met for the pack meeting that included a movie about scouting, popcorn and soda. Ryan received a tent as the second place winner of selling the most popcorn in the pack to date with over $750 in sales. We roasted marshmallows, drank hot apple cider (with or without rum), and sang a few rounds of songs with Mike playing his guitar. It rained over night and I'm happy to say our tent kept us dry. The spouses that slept at home arrived early Sunday morning with hot coffee, cocoa and breakfast that kept everyone smiling. Camping 20 minutes from home has its conveniences. See more photos.
